WARNING DO NOT FALL FOR INTERNET SCAMS CLAIMING TO SELL PURIFANS OR PURIFAN FILTERS
Do Not Use Knock-Off Filters in Your Purifan
THE ONLY SAFE PLACE TO ORDER PURIFANS OR OUR FILTERS ONLINE
or by contacting an Authorized Purifan Re-Seller in our Find-A-Dealer Section
Once Purifan became successful and earned 11 Patents Worldwide, a variety of cheap, knock-off scam artists and filter makers showed up on the Internet. They use deceptive marketing schemes on their websites and some even mail postcards to Purifan customers to trick them into ordering filters from them, believing they are authorized to sell Authentic Purifan Filters. Some even violate Federal Trademark Laws and trick customers into thinking they are ordering directly from Purifan, and they use our Registered Name, Copyrighted Material, Photos, Illustrations and Trademarks on their website or in their URL name. THESE ARE NOT A PURIFAN WEBSITE AND THEY DO NOT SELL AUTHENTIC PURIFAN FILTERS. USING THESE FILTERS VOIDS YOUR LIFETIIME WARRANTY ON YOUR PURIFANS.
Trying to SCAM Customers over the internet impersonating another company, including using their Trademarks, Copyrighted Materials and Violating Patents is now a Serious Federal Offense involving substantial fines and prison terms, so we need you to supply us with any marketing materials they used that tricked you into thinking you were doing business with Purifan. Write us a letter and tell us if you felt tricked into thinking these were Purifan Filters and how much you spent on these knock-off filters and we will ask any jury trials to refund your money from these violators. This may help you recover your losses from impersonators. These letters will also increase our chance of recovering punitive damages from these website operators. If you purchase filters from out-of-state supplier these website impersonations or direct mail impersonations may be a Federal Offense involving the FBI.
These scam artists use deceptive marketing techniques to make customers believe they are ordering "Factory Direct Filters" for their Purifan. They ship out low-quality filters that do not work nearly as well as the Purifan Factory filters. They are typically made of shoddy materials, look sloppy and cheaply made. Some scam artists have even sold customers USED Purifan filters they have washed, which will not restore any of the original filter performance. Some websites even claim to sell Purifans, but they are typically selling used Purifans they buy from bars and restaurants that have gone out of business or been hit with a Smoking Ban in their markets. If you order from these websites YOU ARE NOT GETTING new Purifans with factory Lifetime Warranties or Authentic Purifan Filters from these websites. You should return these Purifans and Filters file for a refund if you thought you were getting new Purifans with a Lifetime Warranty. We would highly recommend you DO NO NOT GIVE these knock-off filter websites any Credit Card Information.
They offer you cheap prices for something that isn't worth anything if you want to filter out allergens, smoke or odors. The best way to guarantee you are getting factory direct Purifan filters is buy from an Authorized Dealer or Retail Partner listed on our website.
The worst offenders of these websites openly violate Federal Trademark law for the unauthorized use of our Registered Trademark, website information and product photos. The worst offenders use our name all over their website but others use the similar sounding names like "Pura-Filters" or something similar. We file lawsuits against these violators, but this can take years, and they usually dissolve the company we sue and then move the website to another company overnight. These people are very tricky about making you believe you are buying Real Purifan Filters. If you ordered from these sites, pack up your filters, new or used, and send them back or throw them away and file for a refund from your Credit Card Company, and file a claim with the State Attorney General about these deceptive business practices. These filters are not true Purifan filters and you are not authorized to use them in your Purifan. If you do use these cheap knock-off filters you can cause some or all of the problems listed here:
-
Use of non-Purifan filters will VOID the Lifetime Warranty from Purifan on the Purifan and Purifan Motors.
-
Use of non-Purifan filters will dramatically reduce the air cleaning and odor reducing function of your Purifan. These cheap substitutes are typically worthless and should not be used. When we get complaints the Purifan stopped doing its job when they changed filters, we usually find out they fell for one of these scam filters offers. Once they put our filters back in the unit it works like brand new again.
-
Use of non-Purifan filters can increase wobble and vibration because of their difference in weight and inconsistent quality. Most don't even use true filter material, but substitute black foam rubber and cheap polyester pre-filter materials.
-
There could be a Fire Hazard because these cheap filters do not provide the air resistance needed to slow down airflow through the Purifan. This causes a motor drag resistance that can be much greater than what the motor was designed to handle. It can overheat, catch fire or fail from this drag and the heat it generates. Purifan filters are designed to put the same load that the motor was designed to handle.
Our advice is return these filters and file for a Credit Card refund or stop payment on your Credit Card if you thought you were buying Purifan Filters. If you paid by check you may want to file a claim in small claims court. Make a complaint to your state attorney general and report these illegal business practices. Always buy your Authentic Purifan Filters from an Authorized Dealer or on our website www.purifan.com . Call 877-789-9580 if you get scammed. FAX us copies of their deceptive marketing materials so we can file legal action against them. Send copies to your State Attorney General and report them to the Better Business Bureau. Make a formal complaint to your Credit Card Company about these deceptive business practices.
