This Site Survey will determine how many Purifans you need, where to locate them for the best performance and any installation or electrical issues. Purifans are easy to mount in a suspended ceiling, but in other types of ceilings more wire or installation issues may have to be investigated. Purifan also offers floor models to eliminate the issues of installing a ceiling fan.
For Your Home: You should decide if you are going to install the Purifan on your existing ceiling fan, or you are replacing a ceiling fan. If you don't have a weight-bearing ceiling fan box in the location you plan to install the Purifan, you need to get an electrician involved to properly install a ceiling-fan-rated electrical box. Local Purifan Dealers can help you get your Purifan installed properly with minimum wobble or vibration. Properly installed Purifans run smooth, quiet and straight. Purifans install just like a ceiling fan, so find an installer, handyman or if you are a home handyman and can follow instructions, Purifans can be self installed.
Choice 1 - Do you want our ceiling fan model or our new Purifan Floor Stand Model. The ceiling fan mounts like a ceiling fan, or can even convert most existing 52-inch ceiling fans into Purifans. The Purifan Floor Stand is a model with a heavy metal floor base for stability, and mounts the Purifan about 7 feet above the floor. This is ideal for older homes with plaster walls or ceilings. The Purifan Floor Stand Model also works for offices, hotel rooms, public waiting rooms, wedding reception halls and many other applications.
Choice 2 - If You Select the Ceiling Fan Model We Recommend You Buy the Complete Kit of Purifan, Matching Motor and Light Kit from Purifan, Purifan Matching Motor and Purifan Light Kit - This is the best way to buy a Purifan because you know everything will work together and be covered under our Lifetime Warranty Program. You have to pick a color and you have four choices, and you have to pick a light kit. The Purifan Motor is a standard ceiling fan motor so you can shop for your own light kit or globes at any Lowe's or Home Deport to create a look that you want in your home. If you want to buy your light kit locally order the Purifan and Motor only in Choice 3 below.
Choice 3 - Buy the Purifan and Matching Motor - Purifans with Motor and Light Kit are typically installed in homes, bedrooms, children's rooms, baby's room, hotel rooms, time share units, condos, assisted living apartments, nursing home meeting areas, public waiting rooms, retail stores and anywhere the light kit provides needed lighting for the room or business.
For Most Commercial Installations in Bars, Schools, Businesses, Offices, DayCares, Hospitals, Convenience Stores, Locker Rooms, Fraternal Clubs, Bingo Halls, Pet Groomers, Pet Stores, or any installation where the Purifan isn't a primary lighting source for the room. The Purifan and Motor allow you to add a light kit that you purchase locally, or you can run the Purifan without a light kit.
Choice 4 - Buy the Purifan Only - This is a buyer who has existing 52 inch ceiling fans that have removable blades and may allow the Purifan to be installed on the existing motor. This works if the motors are in good condition, have at least 52 inch blades, are well balanced and have a motor mounting plate that is compatible with Purifan. Some decorative motor cases or light kits will rub on Purifans, and may require some adjustment. See the installation instructions and you will see the type of motor most commonly used by customers. Many new motors will also work, but smaller motors or fancy motors may not allow a Purifan to be installed. You can change your filters every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 or 12 months. The guidelines for filter life are based on the typical situation. If you have a lot of extra dust or odors you may have to change filters more often. See the filter guidelines below.
Choice 8 - Sign Up for the Referral Club To Earn Free Filters or Free Purifans - This gets you a packet of brochures you can hand out to friends and earn $25 worth of credit for each Purifans someone purchases from your referral. You can earn enough to pay for your filters, or get you a discount on another Purifans. We have many people who sent us more referrals for more than 12 Purifans. Remember some offices buy 4, 6 or 8 units. Most day-cares need 3 or 4, restaurants buy 4 to 10, nursing homes buy 6 to 20 and businesses buy 4 to 8 units. So just by handing out literature to people you know, you may earn enough credits to get free filters for life, or a second or third Purifan for your home or for a gift.

Home with One or Two Mild to Moderate Smokers - Filters typically last 3 to 6 months with smokers. Some homeowners upgrade to the commercial smoking filters the PA-II.
